Thank you to all who applied for the 2025 Mini-Grant Program supporting grassroots efforts in South Central Elkhart. The application window is now closed. We appreciate your commitment to the community, and we will be in touch once the South-Central Neighborhood Committee has completed its review.


Program Overview

We’re investing in grassroots efforts that uplift South Central Elkhart. If your program is making a difference in this community, we want to support it.

Who Could Apply

  • Organizations serving the South Central Elkhart neighborhood

  • Programs that improve community engagement, safety, education, health, or financial stability

  • Your program did not need a physical location in the neighborhood, but had to serve its residents

  • Established programs only – start-ups were not eligible

Funding Focus Areas

Eligible projects needed to align with one of the following pillars:

  • Youth Opportunities

  • Healthy Communities

  • Financial Security

  • Community Resiliency

Applicants were required to report on at least one or two measurement outcomes within the selected category—once at 6 months, and again at the end of the one-year grant cycle.

Grant Cycle

  • Funding Period: September 1, 2025 – August 31, 2026

  • Maximum Grant Award: $5,000

  • Application Deadline: Friday, June 20, 2025, by 5:00 PM (Late applications not accepted)

Selection Process

  • Grant recipients will be selected by the South-Central Neighborhood Committee

  • Crossroads United Way serves as the convener and funder but does not vote on funding decisions
