United We CARE: Crossroads United Way Provides $187,000 in Emergency Aid as Part of $845,000 Community Investment
Elkhart, IN — [May 19] — Crossroads United Way announces the distribution of $845,000 in grants to support critical services across Elkhart, LaGrange, Noble, and Steuben Counties this May. A total of 61 grants are being awarded to local organizations and programs like Salvation Army, Church Community Services and numerous pantries working to meet urgent needs and improve quality of life throughout the region.
Of the total funding, $187,000 will be distributed to 18 organizations to address immediate, emergency needs including food, utilities, and medications for individuals and families facing hardship. These rapid-response funds are designed to provide timely relief and stabilize vulnerable households.
In addition, $658,000 will support 43 programs focused on long-term impact in areas such as financial security, healthy communities, and youth opportunities—key building blocks for thriving communities.
