Shannon Klein-Bruggeman serves as Vice President and Trust Officer in the Trust & Wealth Management division of First State Bank, where she provides concierge-level service to trust and wealth clients. A lifelong Michiana resident, Shannon began her banking career 28 years ago and quickly developed a passion for helping individuals and families achieve financial stability and long-term security. Throughout her career, she has built a strong reputation for financial stewardship, personalized client care, and leadership in wealth and trust services.
Shannon currently serves as Treasurer of the Crossroads United Way Board and previously served as Board Chair, helping guide the organization through its evolution into a regional United Way serving Elkhart, LaGrange, Noble, and Steuben counties. Her involvement with Crossroads United Way began as a volunteer reviewing grant requests from local agencies, an experience that deepened her understanding of community needs and strengthened her commitment to service. In her leadership role, Shannon brings financial expertise, integrity, and strong fiduciary oversight to ensure resources are managed responsibly, transparently, and in alignment with community priorities.
Reflecting on her experience, Shannon shares, “Crossroads United Way has opened my eyes to all the amazing agencies that serve those less fortunate right here in our communities. It has been an honor to serve alongside like-minded individuals to further the mission of this organization, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to make a lasting impact in people's lives.”
Shannon’s dedication to the region extends beyond her professional and volunteer leadership, reinforcing her belief that neighbor helping neighbor is more than a phrase — it is how communities grow stronger together. She is married to the love of her life, Gary, and together they share a blended family including Chloé, Kye, and Kaylee, along with two beloved fur babies, Gigi, a golden retriever, and Genevieve, their cat. In her spare time, Shannon enjoys gardening, thrifting, and spending time with family and friends.
